Questions to Ask Your Provider

By Dr. Kirk Sanford, DC · Founder, Longevity Medical Institute

If you take one practical thing from this book, make it this list. These questions are difficult to answer well unless a clinic is genuinely doing the work.

If you decide to explore regenerative medicine, the conversation you have with a provider matters enormously. Good questions protect you, and they also reveal a great deal about whether a provider deserves your trust. Here are questions worth asking, and what good answers tend to sound like. What does the evidence actually show for my specific condition? A trustworthy answer distinguishes clearly between what is well-supported, what is promising, and what is still uncertain. Be cautious of answers that blur those lines or skip straight to success stories. What are the realistic goals, and what are the limits? Look for a provider who speaks in terms of supporting your body's healing and improving your odds, not one who guarantees outcomes. The willingness to name limits is a sign of honesty, not weakness. What are the risks, and how are they managed? No procedure is risk-free. A good provider will discuss risks openly rather than waving them away. How is this therapy regulated, and what is its status? Trustworthy providers are transparent about whether something is an established treatment or an investigational approach. What will be expected of me? Remember the foundations you control. A provider who treats your daily habits as part of your care, rather than as an afterthought, understands that healing is a partnership. What happens if it does not work? A thoughtful provider has considered this and will discuss it openly, rather than treating success as a foregone conclusion. You are not being difficult by asking these questions. You are being a good steward of your own health. The right provider will welcome them.
