Introduction
Dr. Luz Victoria Flores Villegas is a board-certified physician specializing in hematology, with over two decades of expertise in pediatric hematology, stem cell transplantation, and regenerative medicine. She completed her medical subspecialty training in Hematology at the prestigious Centro Médico Nacional “20 de Noviembre” ISSSTE, followed by advanced certifications in regenerative medicine from ISSCA and IPN, and a diploma in Hematopoietic Progenitor Transplantation from the University of Valencia.
Dr. Flores Villegas has played a pioneering role in shaping hematology services across Mexico. She served as Head of Pediatric Hematology at CMN “20 de Noviembre” ISSSTE, where she directed clinical care, academic teaching, and research initiatives. She also led the opening and organization of the Hematology and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Unit at Hospital Dra. Matilde Petra Montoya Lafragua, building one of the region’s most advanced platforms for cellular therapies.
Her clinical contributions extend into academia and international education. Over her career, she has participated in more than 95 specialized courses and congresses, delivered over 75 invited lectures worldwide, and contributed to 56 national and international scientific publications. She also serves as an associate professor in postgraduate training programs for pediatric hematology and medical board preparation.
