July 2025 Newsletter: TriFusion Blood Therapy

This month, we are introducing TriFusion Blood Therapy at Longevity Medical Institute, making it the first and only treatment of its kind in Los Cabos. This is a major upgrade in how we help your body detox, regenerate, and defend itself - at the cellular level.

How the Treatment Works

Step 1: Blood Extraction (Catheter to Pump)

• A sterile, closed-loop circuit is established by inserting two intravenous (IV) catheters—one in each arm.

Step 2: Blood Enters EBOO Filter

• The patient’s blood flows through a specialized EBOO filter, which acts similarly to a dialysis membrane.
• This step removes toxic byproducts, excess cytokines, cellular debris, lipid peroxides, and other inflammatory mediators while preserving beneficial components of the blood.

Step 3: Ozonation (O₃ Infusion)

• Medical-grade ozone (a gas composed of three oxygen atoms) is carefully infused into the extracorporeal blood in controlled concentrations.
• Ozone interacts with blood components to:
  • Break down pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungi).
  • Enhance red blood cell flexibility and oxygen-releasing capacity.
  • Activate antioxidant defenses by stimulating Nrf2 pathways.
  • Trigger immune modulation through mild oxidative signaling.

Step 4: Ozonated Blood Leaves EBOO Filter

Step 5: Ultraviolet (UV) Irradiation

• The ozonated and oxygenated blood then passes through a UV light chamber, typically utilizing UV-A and UV-C wavelengths.
• UV exposure helps:
  • Destroy pathogens
  • Enhance immune recognition of abnormal or infected cells.
  • Oxidize toxins and activate white blood cells for enhanced systemic immune response.
  • Improve microcirculation and reduce hypercoagulability.

Step 6: LED Light Therapy (Photobiomodulation)

• After UV treatment, the blood is exposed to LED lights emitting specific wavelengths (e.g., red, blue, green, and infrared).
• This step promotes:
  • Mitochondrial activation in white and red blood cells (via cytochrome c oxidase stimulation).
  • Reduction in oxidative stress and inflammation.
  • Vascular relaxation and improved nitric oxide (NO) signaling.

Step 7: Return of Purified, Bioactivated Blood

• The treated blood, now enriched with oxygen, modulated by ozone, and energized by light, is reinfused into the patient’s body through the second IV line.
• This process typically takes 45–60 minutes per session.

Step 8: Systemic Effects and Integration

• Once reinfused, the blood begins exerting systemic effects:
  • Improved oxygen delivery to tissues.
  • Decreased inflammation and pain.
  • Immune balancing (downregulating autoimmunity or upregulating suppression of infections).
  • Enhanced detoxification capacity at the liver and cellular levels.
