Prenuvo or Longevity MRI? What Patients Are Asking Us

Over the past several months, many patients have asked how our Full Body MRI experience compares to Prenuvo. It’s a thoughtful and important question, and one I can answer from personal experience, having personally completed both.
Whole-body MRI has become one of the most powerful tools in modern preventive and longevity medicine. It allows us to evaluate the body in extraordinary detail, without radiation, often identifying disease processes before symptoms appear. As interest in early detection continues to grow, patients naturally want to understand how different MRI options compare and what those differences mean for their care.
At Longevity Medical Institute® (LMI), a Full Body MRI is not viewed as a standalone screening test. It is the foundation of a comprehensive, physician-led medical evaluation that integrates advanced imaging, laboratory diagnostics, cardiovascular assessment, and personalized treatment planning within one coordinated clinical system.
Prenuvo offers a broad screening overview. LMI is designed for patients who want deeper diagnostic insight, interpretation, and clear next steps.
A Calmer, More Supportive MRI Experience
MRI anxiety is common, and comfort directly affects image quality. LMI’s scanner is designed to reduce stress and improve the patient experience from the moment the scan begins.
Our system incorporates QScan quiet technology, which significantly reduces acoustic noise compared with conventional MRI systems. This creates a calmer environment and helps minimize patient movement, which improves image clarity.
For patients with anxiety or claustrophobia, additional support is available. Clinical studies show that 25–35% of patients experience moderate to high anxiety during MRI, and up to 15% are unable to complete scans elsewhere.
At LMI, physician-led options are available when clinically appropriate:
- Oral medication for mild anxiety
- Administered by injection sedation for more severe claustrophobia
Prenuvo does not offer this as part of its standard workflow, as it requires intervention by your outside physician. Many patients who are unable to tolerate MRI elsewhere can complete their scans comfortably at LMI.

Image Quality: Where the Differences Matter Most
Both Prenuvo and LMI use 1.5-Tesla MRI systems, which are widely regarded as the ideal field strength for whole-body imaging. The meaningful differences lie in how images are captured, reconstructed, and interpreted.
At LMI, image acquisition goes far beyond a one-size-fits-all approach. We use multiple high-channel, region-specific coils designed for the brain, spine, heart, abdomen, pelvis, and joints. These coils dramatically improve signal quality, contrast, and spatial resolution compared with single whole-body coil configurations.
To further enhance imaging, LMI incorporates DeepRecon™ AI reconstruction, which sharpens detail, reduces noise, and enables true 3D volumetric visualization. This level of clarity is especially important when evaluating subtle or early findings that may influence clinical decision-making.
This advanced imaging approach allows for more precise detection of:
- Early or small tumors
- Vascular and neurologic abnormalities
- Nerve compression
- Cartilage degeneration and joint pathology
- Tendon and ligament micro-tears
- Bone marrow changes and soft-tissue inflammation
Similar Scan Time, Faster and Clearer Results
A Full Body MRI at LMI typically takes 45–50 minutes, comparable to Prenuvo. The difference becomes clear after the scan is complete.
At LMI, results are typically available within 48–72 hours, with same-day interpretation available when clinically appropriate. Patients meet directly with an LMI physician who explains findings in clear, practical terms and outlines next steps.
Imaging interpretation is led by Dr. Hugo Ramos, MD, Chief of Advanced Imaging, with support from an advanced imaging team specializing in high-level MRI acquisition and interpretation. This ensures that findings are reviewed in full clinical context rather than as isolated screening observations.
Prenuvo reports are generally delivered in several weeks and are designed to guide patients toward follow-up with outside providers rather than provide diagnosis or treatment planning.

Personalized Imaging, Not a Fixed Protocol
Prenuvo uses a standardized whole-body imaging protocol. At LMI, imaging is personalized.
Before imaging, patients undergo comprehensive laboratory testing and advanced cardiovascular assessment. When biomarkers suggest increased risk in a specific organ system, MRI sequences can be adjusted accordingly. Additional sequences or contrast-enhanced imaging may be added during the exam when clinically appropriate.
Contrast studies at LMI are performed using the Spectris Solaris injector, allowing precise timing and enhanced safety when contrast imaging is needed for vascular, inflammatory, or oncologic evaluation. Prenuvo does not offer this.
This personalized approach reduces the need for repeat imaging and provides a more complete diagnostic picture from the outset.
From Screening to Coordinated Medical Care
Screening MRI can identify findings, but it often leaves patients navigating next steps on their own. With Prenuvo, findings require referrals to outside specialists, each with separate appointments and additional imaging requests, which patients find frustrating.
At LMI, imaging, interpretation, and care are coordinated within one integrated medical system. Findings are reviewed collaboratively, and patients are guided from detection through diagnosis and treatment without unnecessary delays or duplicated testing.
This process is supported by the Longevity Patient App, which integrates imaging, laboratory data, wearable insights, physician notes, and personalized treatment plans into one secure platform designed for long-term continuity of care.
The Bottom Line
Prenuvo offers a well-known whole-body MRI screening service that provides a general overview of health.
Longevity Medical Institute offers a physician-led, comprehensive MRI experience that integrates advanced imaging technology, AI-enhanced reconstruction, personalized protocols, rapid interpretation, and coordinated medical care.
At Prenuvo, patients receive information to take to their providers.
At LMI, patients receive interpretation, clinical context, and a clear, personalized plan for what comes next.
Both approaches have value. The right choice depends on how closely you want your imaging connected to your ongoing medical care and long-term health goals.
