Although his career later shifted toward fintech entrepreneurship and the building of several highly successful companies, his connection to healthcare remained strong due to his unwavering belief that regenerative therapies represent the future of medicine.
For the past eight years, Dr. Sanford has been a passionate advocate for stem cell research, integrating these groundbreaking therapies into his own health regimen. Dr. Sanford is a member of the Mexican Council of Stem Cells for Therapeutic and Research Purposes, the Mexican College of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, and the International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy (ISCT). He is certified by the International Society for Stem Cell Applications (ISSCA) and has advanced training in Dezawa Muse Cells and Muse Exosomes. Through his strategic leadership and partnerships with doctors who are leading experts, LMI is transforming health and redefining age. His team is setting new standards for regenerative medicine and anti-aging therapies. While Dr. Sanford holds a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, he does not provide chiropractic or medical services at Longevity Medical Institute and is not a practicing physician within the clinic.

Dr. Félix Porras, MD brings over four decades of distinguished medical experience to Longevity Medical Institute, where he leads with an unwavering dedication to patient outcomes. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Veracruzana and went on to complete advanced surgical residencies at Yale Hospital in the United States and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in England. Over the course of his career, Dr. Porras has managed tens of thousands of patient cases and surgeries, ranging from routine procedures to highly complex conditions.
His expertise spans both conventional and regenerative medicine. He is an active member of the Mexican Council of Stem Cells for Therapeutic and Research Purposes and the Mexican College of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine, and he holds certifications from the International Society for Stem Cell Applications (ISSCA), IIEMED, and the International Congress for Orthopedic Regenerative Medicine, among others.
In addition to his clinical and regenerative work, Dr. Porras serves as Vice President of the IATA Medical Group and is a recognized authority in aerospace and aeronautical medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP) and a Master’s Degree in Regenerative Medicine from Universidad Anáhuac. Dr. Scott M. Ross, MD, is a U.S. board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon with more than 40 years of clinical experience. As one of the exceptionally few physicians fully licensed to practice in both the United States and Mexico, Dr. Ross brings a level of dermatologic care to Los Cabos that is truly unmatched.
What makes Dr. Ross especially rare is his dual mastery in both medical dermatology and dermatologic surgery - a combination that includes oncologic skin surgery, aesthetic surgical procedures, and advanced techniques such as hair transplants and body contouring. Yomira Avilez serves as Chief of Biotechnology Laboratory at Longevity Medical Institute, where she oversees laboratory operations supporting stem cell, exosome, and NK cell therapies. She is a Pharmaceutical Biochemist trained at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, with additional Lean Sigma Black Belt certification that strengthens her focus on standardized processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
She held senior leadership roles at ITC, one of Mexico’s most respected biotechnology laboratories and our laboratory partner, serving as Laboratory Head for the Baja California Sur branch and Operations Manager for the Tijuana branch. Her background also includes experience in clinical and analytical laboratories, pharmaceutical quality operations, and reproductive laboratory settings, giving her a strong foundation in sterility standards, documentation, and biologic handling.

Cristian Giovani Villa López brings more than nine years of clinical and academic experience in advanced imaging, specializing in high-complexity neuroimaging and cardiac magnetic resonance. A graduate of the Instituto Tecnológico del Estado de México, he has built his career in some of the country’s most respected diagnostic centers, refining a level of precision and analytical skill that sets him apart in the field.
Cristian’s expertise spans advanced post-processing techniques, including spectroscopy and specialized quantitative analysis, enabling him to deliver timely, high-impact diagnostic insights. His work integrates technical mastery with deep clinical understanding, ensuring every study he interprets contributes meaningfully to patient outcomes.
He has served at the prestigious Instituto Nacional de Neurología y Neurocirugía and participated in the MRI Program at the Escuela de Sanidad Militar, where he helped train the next generation of imaging professionals within one of Mexico’s most rigorous radiologic environments.
Cristian was recognized among the Top 3 in the National Research Award “Dr. Humberto Gómez Campaña” for developing an innovative MRI sequence designed to improve the characterization of encephalic lesions, presented at the SD Radiology Congress in Puerto Vallarta, 2025.

Nicolas (Nico) Garza serves as our Hyperbaric Administrator. He oversees our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and PBM light therapy division and supports LMI’s medical doctors in delivering regenerative therapies designed to help patients recover faster and achieve optimal physical health.
Nico is certified in hyperbaric oxygen therapy under the guidance of Dr. Jason Sonners, PhD. Drawing on his firsthand experience as an athlete, he brings a practical, patient-centered approach to care, with a focus on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization.
